Does your heart rate rapidly increase with the thought of a spider appearing in your kitchen or on your bedroom ceiling? You are not alone! It is estimated that around 45% of the UK population have a fear of spiders. When confronted with a spider or even just an image of one you may experience a racing heart rate, breathlessness, sweating, hot/cold flushes, trembling, dizziness, confusion, hysteria, nausea, and sickness.
